It was 2001 when I officially started modeling unless you count the disapproving
shawl scowl below in VIVA Magazine when I was 5.
2001 was a very difficult year for me, both personally and professionally. However, I started modeling and did several shoots that resulted in two book appearances, an image of me that was used on the front page of a site for years and a DVD cover that still makes the rounds on Amazon and in the bargain bin of Best Buy.
In 2007, I spent most of the year in school at Los Angeles City College and when I wasn’t in class, worked full time as an extra. I’m now SAG-eligible but that was such a different time of my life.
I was carefree and didn’t have the responsibilities that I do now!
My work regularly included bookings on Dexter, House M.D., the first Ironman movie (I got to experience explosions and Tony’s red suit!), Tropic Thunder, John Hancock, tons of other shows and even more pilots that never saw the light of day. Then the writer’s strike occurred, work dried up, and then I moved to Seattle.
Here’s a narrated video that I just did of my one and only appearance on Hannah Montana.
Check me out in the khakis and pink button down. Stylin’ and profilin’ for sure. Plus a young Selena Gomez.
Truth be known, when I look in the mirror, I still see the same 10 year old in this picture. It would be a few months before my mom would pass away.
I guess we never truly grow out of our adolescent selves.
