Happy New Year! Here’s to a wonderful, healthy and prosperous 2018!
What did you do over the holidays? Maybe you ate a little too much, watched too much on the tube?
If you’re lucky, you might have gotten some Christmas or Hanukkah money (or birthday money if you’re a lot of my friends born in December)!
Even if you didn’t get any lucky money for the holidays, you’re still lucky because I can’t wait to tell you all about a wonderful option, a place to get brand new glasses online. This is a site where you’ll find quality offerings that are both affordable AND stylish, which are tenets of this website!
If you haven’t heard of DiscountGlasses.com, don’t feel bad! It’s not your fault. I myself only recently discovered Discount Glasses when I wrote my last post about eyewear, Part 2 of Don’t Get Ripped Off Buying Eyewear.
DiscountGlasses.com is an online optical retailer dedicated to making the savviest shoppers look amazing. We spend our days curating affordable, trendy, top-quality eyewear for you and your family. And, as firm believers in living life to the fullest, we’re here to help you take a step—or a running leap—outside of your personal norm.
By providing competitive prices, DiscountGlasses.com gives you the ability to purchase multiple pairs of stylish eyewear to show off whoever you are, or however you’re feeling, on any given day. You can go from one pair of glasses to multi-spectacled without breaking the bank.
We’re an upfront, no gimmicks, what-you-see-is-what-you-get kind of company that lets you leave your stifled spectacle zone and take on any persona you see fit. And, if your new specs get broken or you wander a bit too far from your style comfort zone—return them. It’s on us.
Life’s short—mix it up.
I’m not creating a story around a brand; I’m contributing to one that already exists. When DiscountGlasses.com reached out to me about sponsorship, I carefully checked out their site, their offerings, and had great communication regarding the potential sponsored post. I knew that I was in good hands.
What a great way to ring in 2018 with immense gratitude for Discount Glasses sponsoring this post!
DiscountGlasses.com and DiscountContactLenses.com are great sites where you can discover affordable eyewear that won’t break the bank. They are a must, especially if you don’t have insurance.
My regular readers know that one of my life’s missions is to not pay the full retail price for anything!
DiscountGlasses.com more than satisfies that mission and helps me feel stylish in the process.
Here I am wearing the Marilyn Monroe MMO 149 frame.
It’s no secret that I’ve been a fan of cat eye frames for quite a while now. However, it’s good to consider changing it up every now and then. I’ve had square options that I’ve loved before.
Another major change is that this is my first pair of computer glasses!
Don’t you get so frustrated with prescriptions? Whether you wear glasses or contacts, it’s the same hassle. And it’s expensive! The one thing that I’ve distinctly noticed about getting older is how your eyesight changes.
So THEN you have to decide what approach to take after you get the sign off on your stronger prescription! Do you replace the lenses in your existing glasses, which suddenly don’t seem so appealing anymore?
Do you also get replacement contacts in the new script?
What about shopping around for a pair of frames that you like just enough to settle for? How about if you strongly desire specialty lenses like Transitions? My bank account is getting nervous as I type this!
Here’s the Lunettos Harper style from Discount Glasses.com. The price is unbeatable at $9.99. It doesn’t get much better than that!
You could charge your new glasses that you’re paying full retail for, but you know that’s not the best idea to add another $300+ to your debts. Even with insurance, there are limits and still many fees involved that aren’t covered. So now what?
Since we spend so much time in front of a computer, it’s a MUST to avoid eye strain as well as headaches.
My confession is that I’m veering into Progressives lens territory! After consulting with friends in the same boat, my takeaway was that I didn’t feel Progressives would be best for my needs.
They were such intense conversations too! It almost felt conspiratory and clandestine when we talked about our failing eyesight and how much we’ve spent over the years on eyewear.
Fret no more because I’m absolutely confident that you’ll love Discount Glasses as much as I do!
Since I like to dress up a lot, I also change it up with colored contacts. This isn’t a secret anymore (since I’m now telling you), but my initial reason for getting colored lenses was because I kept losing the clear ones!
It’s tragic to think how much was thrown away over the years before I discovered colored contacts that I liked. Contacts have evolved SO much and you don’t have to spend a lot to maintain good eye health.
An important word about your eyes: I’m not a trained professional or doctor and this post is entirely my opinion and is not intended to replace medical advice.
It’s IMPERATIVE that you regularly visit your eye doctor for normal visits. If anything changes or feels uncomfortable, get thee quickly to your doc. Contacts do wear out and your eyes can change rapidly, especially before and after having kids.
Regarding my order, Discount Contact Lenses was so thorough in confirming everything with my optometrist. It took slightly longer to get my lenses than my glasses, but not too much.
Speaking of arrival time for my frames, it was much quicker than the frames I’ve gotten from Zenni and Bonlook in the past! While those sites are still decent options for affordable eyewear, it can take quite awhile to get your glasses. So frustrating when you needed them yesterday. The returns process with Zenni was a minor pain.
I used to think that you had to compromise on customer service if you were spending less than retail.
Well, I’m so glad that I was wrong in this instance! Discount Glasses was FAST as they ship from Ohio and not China, like some eyewear competitors.
Everyone can appreciate good product pics and the pics on Discount Glasses are representative of the products. Another thing that’s important is that the website is intuitive and user-friendly. Discount Glasses delivers well on that front. You can sort through the different styles with ease, which is a win-win for everyone.
Back to my frames. Who knew there was Marilyn Monroe licensed eyewear!? Here are my other top pics:
This is the Marilyn Monroe 148 style.
Here’s the Serafina Stella (which remind me of a style that Warby Parker discontinued that I LOVED, the Thatcher)
These sunglasses are stylish and affordable, starting at $24.47 (non-prescription) and $44.47 with your prescription.
Meet the Lunettos Sara style
Let’s talk contacts again with Discount Contact Lenses.com.
Their selection is diverse! Besides the usual brands in the industry, I’d never heard of Orion Vision lenses and was intrigued.
All of their colors seem very decent. However, you know how hard it can be to calibrate colors on different monitors. So what do you do to help yourself make an informed decision?
I visited YouTube and found an informative video that helped me make my choice. In the end, I chose the Bella Sky Blue contacts and couldn’t be happier with my selection. Whew!
Here’s another of the Bella Sky Blue contacts, in a natural setting, the kitchen.
I find them to be very natural looking and they make my eyes appear bigger. They’re also light and comfortable to wear and for someone like me who enjoys wearing false eyelashes, that’s a must!
I wouldn’t hesitate to reorder them and perhaps try a color in the Halloween range. Here are the other contacts that I considered from Discount Contact Lenses.
Orion Vision Contacts in Color Max Grey
Orion Vision Contacts in Bella Blue Rain
Orion Vision Contacts in Impressions Blue
Check out the other colored contact lens options over at DiscountContactLenses.com
In conclusion, I’m so excited to be able to present another option for my dear readers, if you’re looking for affordable eyewear. Make saving money and not paying retail one of your 2018’s resolutions.
